The Braide Grande Pinot Grigio Collio DOC shines intense straw-yellow in the glass, with a bouquet of spicy and floral aromas on the nose. On the palate it is dry, full-bodied, almost wild, with hints of nutmeg in the long aftertaste.
Vinification of Braide Grande Pinot Grigio Collio DOC from Livon
The grapes for this Pinot Grigio Cru from Livon grow in the Braide vineyard near Ruttars in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio in eastern Friuli, on clayey marl soils of oceanic origin. The grape harvest is carried out exclusively by hand, the grapes are placed in small crates in the cellar and cold macerated in the horizontal press for eight hours, the must is then clarified by natural decantation. The following fermentation takes place for 30% of the wine in French barriques from Allier and for 70% in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature of 10°C. The wine is then not decanted but matured for eight months at a constant temperature in the same vats in which the fermentation took place. At the end of this period, the cuvée is formed from the different matured wines, bottled and the finished wine harmonises for a further period in the bottle before being sold.
The Cru Braide Grande Pinot Grigio can be stored for 6 to 10 years.
