Borgo Salcetino

The adventure of the Borge Salcetino winery began in 1996 when Valneo and Tonino Livon, successful winemakers in Friuli, decided to break new ground and explore new territories.

Borgo Salcetino Winery - Tradition and Innovation with Passion

To do this, they buy a winery in Tuscany, right in the heart of the historic Chinati Classico area in the municipality of Radda in Chianti. The Azienda Agricola Borgo Salcetino extends over 30 hectares in the Lucarelli district, 15 of which are in vineyards. They are gradually modernizing the vineyards, in addition to the autochthonous original grape varieties

• Sangiovese and
• Canaiolo

merlot is planted on an experimental basis.

Hospitality at Borgo Salcetino

The buildings of Borgo Salcetino are undergoing intensive restoration work without losing their terroir-typical character and are always the place for enjoyable fireside evenings with a glass of wine, but also the location for beautiful parties, in the tradition of Tuscan and Friulian hospitality.

In the wine cellar

The splendid underground cellar of Borgo Salcetino provides the perfectly tempered location for the aging in large oak barrels of the Chianti Classico and the Chianti Classico Riserva, made strictly according to the traditional DOCG specifications, and for the barriques for the Rossole, the new wine in which Sangiovese and Merlot come together. In total, production reaches 95,000 bottles per year.
