Bolla is the name of a family that has made the production of top Italian wines its vocation in the area around Verona.
Bolla Winery - From a small family business to a top producer
The Bolla family is proud to have acquired its first wine cellar no less than 125 years ago. As the demand for their high quality wines grew, the family business developed into one of the most successful Italian wineries. Over a total of no less than four generations, the heritage and the associated passion for wine has been passed down. Today, the winery is in the hands of the "Gruppo Italiano Vini" group of companies, under the management of winemaker Christian Scrinzi. He guards the family values and philosophy, producing white, red and sweet wines of the highest quality. Bolla was one of the first wineries to obtain the certificate "UNI EN ISO 29002", from the prestigious Scandinavian company Det Norske Veritas.
Everything from palatable to sparkling - the Bolla wines
In the hilly wine region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Bolla has several sites where a wide variety of grape varieties are cultivated. The relatively mild climate that prevails here is characterized on the one hand by Mediterranean influences and on the other by Alpine currents. In the north, the mountain range offers protection from winds that are too cold, thus favoring ideal ripening of the grapes. In the region one finds soils of limestone, clay and silt, which are mineral and particularly poor in nutrients. They are the optimal conditions for the flourishing of excellent grape varieties. The main grape varieties are
CabernetSauvignon
Corvina
Rondinella
but also the white varieties
Garganega and
Trebbiano.
In addition to world-renowned, palatable red and white wines, the winery also produces sparkling Prosecco.
Born in white wine center
Bolla has grown from a small traditional winery to one of the most renowned wineries in Italy. For this path they have chosen the white wine center of Italy: Friuli Venezia Giulia. Here, the typical white wines of the region are produced from a wide variety of vintages, such as the 2012 Soave Superiore Tufaie and the Bolla Soave Classico 2016. However, the flavorful red wines, such as the spicy and powerful 2012 Bardolino, can definitely keep up with the white wines. The grapes are harvested by hand by numerous grape growers from the region. Special methods of vine cultivation and a refined vinification technique crown the highly professional approach of Bolla.
