Bodegas Piedemonte is a community of winemakers in Navarre. Today the company produces a wide range of wines with which it makes this Spanish wine region tangible.
Combining modernity and tradition
In Navarre lies the town of Olite, a historic place with over 1500 years of history. Not far from it you will find Bodegas Piedemonte, an ultra-modern winery. This contrast already shows wonderfully what Bodegas Piedemonte is all about.
The combination of tradition and modern cellar technology was what moved four winemakers to join forces in 1992 and produce quality wine. Since 2005, the estate has been part of the Navarra Wine Route, which showcases the diversity and characteristics of wine production in the area.
The land and the wine
today the estate has 273 hectares of vineyards, located in the Navarra appellation. They extend over the Ribera Alta region, near Olite and Cadreita. Terraces characterize the image of the first region. The vines are not additionally irrigated, despite the dry Spanish climate.
The soil is clay, but not very deep, with a high stone content. In contrast, Cadreita is mostly flat, terraces are found only occasionally. One irrigation, the vines would not survive here. The stony clay soils also extend to this area.

"The journey of the wine through the cellar begins with the walk through the forest of steel, a pause in the wood and the dream in the glass" - this is how Piedemonte describes his vinification process of stainless steel aging and wood and bottle aging, which also sums up well the modern production method.
Sustainable in many respects
Bodegas Piedemonte is committed to high quality wine and therefore implemented the BRC and ISF standards for high quality food production. Certification is renewed annually to ensure consistently high standards. In addition, Piedemonte tries to make its production as environmentally friendly as possible.
Sustainable water management, biological plant protection and reduction of energy consumption are only the first steps that are taken in order to be able to produce great wines for many years to come. In addition, the winemakers are involved in social projects in their region and beyond.
