The Blaufränkisch Heide from Birgit Braunstein is just right for those who like it dry. However, it is never dry or brittle, as you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. Balanced and complex, this velvety red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Blaufränkisch Heide flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgenland finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of blackberry and sour cherry show.

Vinification of the Birgit Braunstein Blaufränkisch Heide

This wine clearly puts the focus on one grape variety, and that is Blaufränkisch. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Birgit Braunstein only first-class grapes were harvested. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the organically produced Blaufränkisch Heide is aged for several months in oak barriques.
