More information about Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling trocken - Dr. Wehrheim

The Dr. Wehrheim Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling is a first-class white wine. It shows a wonderfully bright, light yellow color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, you can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like way. The first nose of the Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling presents notes of pineapple, peaches and mangoes. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.

The Dr. Wehrheim Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine enthusiast. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a top wine. Balanced and complex, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate, more precisely from Birkweiler, finally captivates with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by sandstone and slate.

Vinification of the Dr. Wehrheim Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling

The balanced Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling from Germany is a single varietal wine, vinified from the Riesling grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate and sandstone. Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Birkweiler Rotliegendes Riesling by Dr. Wehrheim

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as a companion to potato pan with salmon, chickpea curry or coconut-lime fish curry.
