For three generations, the Bidoli Winery has been managed with continuity, vision and competence by the founding family.

Bidoli - home in a brickyard

Winery Bidoli - Family owned for 3 generations

in 1924, the founding father Cavalier Alessandro Bidoli laid the foundations of the family winery in San Daniele del Friuli, home of the famous ham of the same name, his son Giobatta added new ideas and momentum without losing sight of tradition. He succeeded in passing on to his two children the same love and passion for wine and for their own business.

A look at the present

Today it is continued by Arrigo Bidoli, oenologist by trade, and Margherita Bidoli, responsible for administration and marketing. Together they have turned the family winery into a modern efficient and technologically advanced company.

Bidoli overcomes challenges

The main challenge was to find the ideal location for the construction of a new winery and pressing plant: the company headquarters and production facilities are now located on the site of one of Friuli's oldest disused brick distilleries, characterized by the typical brickesse and the flat red brick building, not far from the vineyards where the grapes ripen. Numerous prizes, awards and recognitions in the international wine world confirm the high quality of Bidoli wines, joy is also given by the very good and constant price-quality ratio.

The Friuli Grave wine region

The wine-growing area "Friuli Grave" is located in the north-east of Italy in the region Friuli, it is cut by the river Tagliamento, situated between Pordenones and Udine. The soil is characterized mainly by a high percentage of river gravel. During the day the stones reflect the sunlight, which is beneficial for the ripening of the grapes, and at night they radiate the heat again. The special composition of the soil, the favorable climate from the Adriatic Sea and the backing of the Dolomites and the Carnic and Julian Alps, favor in a special way the viticulture in this region.

The wines are characterized by racy fruit acidity, fine and intense aromas in the white wines, the red wines are dense and structured.

The grape varieties

The Bidoli winery grows the following grape varieties, among others:

  • Chardonnay
  • Pinot Grigio
  • Sauvignon Blanc
  • Merlot
