Bergdolt-Reif & Nett
Bergdolt- Reif & Nett is located in the small village Duttweiler in the middle of the Palatinate in Germany. Its roots go back to the year 1838, when the foundation stone was laid with a construction of the sandstone vault. Today, the winery is run by the Nett family in its fifth generation. The thinker and driver of the winery is winemaster Christian Nett. At an altitude of 120 to 140 meters above sea level, the Nettian vines grow on terrific soil layers of loess and loam, which are traversed by fine limestone veins. The climate here between Speyer and Neustadt is almost comparable to the mediterranean one - ideal conditions to cultivate grape varieties such as Riesling, Dornfelder, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. 76% of the wines grown here are white wines.
Since 2011, some of the best vineyards from the top location Mandelberg have been farmed with the help of horse power: a Rhenish-German cart horse helps to keep the soil loose so that the ground can breathe. This produces grapes which are of higher quality and give even more character to the wines of Berdolt-Reif & Nett.
