Barbera d'Alba DOC 2020 - Prunotto
More information

The Barbera d 'Alba DOC by Prunotto is presented in the glass ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, fresh floral and fruity aromas unfold, rose petals, cherry, currant, varietal wine notes and spicy nuances that originate from the wood finishing. On the palate full-bodied, round and harmonious, soft and with balanced, fresh acidity. Long, pleasant, fresh finish.

Vinification of the Barbera d 'Alba DOC of Prunotto

The grapes for this varietal Barbera come from vineyards in Barbaresco, Treiso, Alba and Barolo. The soils are characterized by shellfish limestone and sediments, mixed with sand and clay marl. After harvesting, the grapes are vinified separately according to vineyards. They are destemmed and pressed and macerated on the shells for about a week at controlled temperatures, followed by alcoholic fermentation for 30 days. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in the first cold days of December and is completed by mid-month. Then one half of the wine is aged for 4 months in French barriques in the second run and the other half in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, the wines of the different vineyards are married, the Barbera d 'Alba is bottled, where the wine rests for another 2 months before it is sold.

This beautiful Barbera d 'Alba is versatile. Thanks to its round taste, it goes well with many dishes, such as fried dishes as well as bollito, the meat of Piedmontese tradition, from appetizers to main course. It should be served at room temperature.
