Avanzi family- winegrowers with passion since 1931

Lake Garda is the Avanzi family 's whole life. Here, more than eighty years ago, began the wonderful adventure, as they call it themselves. The family produces rare and precious wines in Lugana and Garda Classico and cultivates vineyards on four properties in the municipalities of Sirmione, Desenzano del Garda and Polpenazze del Garda. The Avanzi family makes wines exclusively from their own grapes, and each of the wines is produced in the heart of its historic area of origin. For 3 generations, the love for the regions and the local wines has driven the Avanzi family to constant innovation. With over seventy hectares of vineyards and olive groves, the cellars produce Garda Classico, Lugana wines and sparkling wines. With the same care, the oil mill produces the precious Garda extra virgin olive oil d.o.p, a virgin olive oil with very low acidity. The Avanzi family feels connected to traditions, but also does not shy away from innovation. This mix is what makes Avanzi Cantina e Frantoio so successful. In 2007 the new wine cellar was inaugurated. From design to implementation, it was a family project. And so the first grape drying room was designed, where humidity and temperature are controlled by an intelligent control unit. Through a tunnel, this new room is connected to the original buildings. 

The philosophy of Avanzi...

...is based entirely on the region and the soil. Every wine produced on the estates of Lake Garda is an expression of the soil. Lugana is produced on the clayey soils of Lugana di Sirmione, Chiaretto del Garda and Garda and Valtènesi reds are grown on the rolling morainic hills to the west of Lake Garda, where the soils are thin and calcareous with a very high percentage of sand and silt. These are, of course, the best conditions for the production of wines typical of the region.

TheAvanzi family produces wines with a strong personality and strives to achieve excellence every day. In order to continue to act responsibly in the future, sustainability and environmental friendliness are given high priority. For example, this is achieved through their own photovoltaic system, which supplies most of the energy for the winery. 

The vineyards of the Avanzi family

Over 50 hectares of vineyards are spread over the Brescian side of Lake Garda with its gentle hills and mild mountain valleys. In the  4 regions

• Vigna Montecorno and
• Vigna Bragagna

a total of 11 grape varieties are cultivated in the ideal soils and microclimates.
