The Aureum 1865 barrel strength Single Malt Whisky by Ziegler shimmers golden brown in the glass and exudes intense sherry notes. The bouquet is rounded off by floral hints and honey.
This whisky is round and malty on the palate with fine notes of fruit and sherry. The fruity sweet reverberation is long and intense.
Production of the Ziegler Aureum 1865 barrel thickness
The so-called newmake, the freshly roasted whisky, was reduced to about 63% vol. and brought for one year in half in chestnut barrels and the other half in allier oak barrels. This single malt whisky was then transferred to used bourbon barrels. A finish in sherry barrels crowned the finish of the maturation. During maturation, the alcohol content decreased to 53.9% vol.
