More information about Assmannshäuser Spätburgunder trocken - Allendorf

The barrel-aged Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir from the Rheingau wine-growing region presents itself in a bright light red in the glass. This Allendorf red wine reveals all kinds of blackberries on the nose. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as blackcurrant and blueberry.

This red wine from Allendorf is for wine lovers who can't drink their wine dry enough. The Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 0.1 grams of residual sugar. This velvety red wine is balanced and complex on the palate. The Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir is extraordinarily fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. The finish of this well-maturing red wine from the Rheingau wine-growing region is captivating with a beautiful aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the soils dominated by slate and granite.

Vinification of the Allendorf Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir

This balanced red wine from Germany is made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on slate and granite soils in the Rheingau region. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the elegant Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir is matured for several months in oak barrels.

Dining recommendations for the Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir from Allendorf

This German wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, braised chicken in red wine or vegetable couscous with beef rissoles.
