On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. The fruit acidity of the Arrels Côtes du Roussillon Villages is pleasantly rounded and makes this wine wonderfully smooth. The finish of this very maturing red wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region, more precisely from Cotes du Roussillon, finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by slate and limestone.

Vinification of Mas Janeil Arrels Côtes du Roussillon Villages

The basis for the powerful Arrels Côtes du Roussillon Villages from France are grapes from the Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah varieties. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Languedoc-Roussillon. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and shale. Arrels Côtes du Roussillon Villages is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The berries for this red wine from France are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in concrete and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
