The Apianae Moscato del Molise DOC by Di Majo Norante surprises and delights lovers of wines from the Moscato grape. In the glass, the Apianae shines gently golden yellow with delicate amber reflections. On the nose an intense and at the same time fresh bouquet unfolds with the grape variety typical scents of orange blossoms and citrus honey, in the background candied fruits. The taste is wonderfully sweet and varietal Muscat flavours, yet dry on the palate, balanced by the beautifully integrated, elegant acidity, creamy and round. Long, sustainable finish with the typical nutmeg note in long reverberation.
Vinification of Apianae Moscato del Molise by Di Majo Norante
According to tradition, the ancient Moscato vine was already known in antiquity before Christ and has been popular for centuries; it was cultivated under the name Apicia or Apianae. The 100% Moscato grapes, which grow on sandy and loamy soils of the vineyards of Di Majo Norante, are dried on the plant and kriomazerized. They are then lightly pressed to obtain the scents and fermented slowly at a controlled temperature. The malolactic fermentation is carried out completely in the barrel, followed by 12 months of ageing in stainless steel tubs and a further 6 months of bottle storage.
Food recommendation for the Apianae Moscato del Molise DOC by Di Majo Norante
A wonderful meditation wine. For long evenings in philosophical circle. As a dessert wine with cakes and pastries, but also very nice with matured and smoked cheese or with the Paté de Foie, the classic goose stuffing liver.
