The Amarone della Valpolicella from Costa Arènte is a full-bodied, expressive red wine from Italy and is vinified from Corvina (50%), Corvinone (20%), Rondinella (15%) and other red grape varieties (15%).
The colour in the glass is reminiscent of a radiant ruby with purple reflections. The bouquet convinces the nose with its strong, multi-layered aromas - very present are red and black fruits (sour cherry, black currant and raspberries) - accompanied by spicy hints of liquorice, tobacco and black pepper. This Italian red wine has a wonderful elegance on the palate, which reflects the fruity-berry aromas of the nose. Add notes of plum and vanilla. The fresh, balanced acidity harmonizes perfectly with the firm tannins. The concentrated finale comes with a sustained length.
Vinification of the Costa Arènte Amarone The hand-pickedgrapes grow on slopes on marl soils made of
calcareous rock in the Dolomites in the Italian region of Veneto - D.O.C.G. Amarone della Valpolicella.
After the very careful harvesting and selection of the grape estate, it is brought to the winery of Costa Arènte. There, the grapes are gently pressed and the resulting mash is fermented in stainless steel tanks under temperature control. The 36-month ageing in a large wooden barrel (25 hl and 5 hl) ensures the wonderful variety of aromas, the dense colour and the firm tannin structure.
Food recommendation for the Amarone della Valpolicella Costa Arènte
This dry red wine from Italy is a wonderful soloist that should be decanted before enjoyment. But this wine is also a great accompaniment to roast deer, venison or wild boar ragout.
