The light-bodied Winzergenossenschaft Achkarren Achkarrer Schlossberg Ruländer Beerenauslese Barrique presents us with an incredibly fruity taste on the tongue, which is not without reason due to its residual sweet profile. On the palate, the texture of this light-bodied white wine is wonderfully melting and velvety. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Achkarrer Schlossberg Ruländer Beerenauslese Barrique reveals itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this matured white wine from the wine-growing region of Baden finally inspires with extraordinary length. Once again, hints of pineapple and apricot appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the volcanic rock dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Achkarrer Schlossberg Ruländer Beerenauslese Barrique by Winzergenossenschaft Achkarren
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Gris. Only the best grapes were harvested for this exceptionally elegant varietal wine from Winzergenossenschaft Achkarren. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of volcanic rock. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Achkarren Schlossberg Ruländer Beerenauslese Barrique are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of punishing and less selective grape harvesters. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
