In the glass, the 1er Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion from Château Pavie offers a dense purple color. With a bit of side lay, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of plum and blackberry, rounded out by tobacco and leather contributed by barrel aging.

On the palate, Château Pavie's 1er Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an immensely dense texture. In the finish, this very storable wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry and plum. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and limestone are added.

Vinification of Château Pavie 1er Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion

This powerful red wine from France is cuvée from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Bordeaux. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the 1er Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion are harvested exclusively by hand, without the aid of punishing and less selective machinery. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the powerful 1er Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion is aged for another 18 months in oak barriques.
